Effectivenss of artificial intelligence applications in the translation of Chinese medicine terminology

[Abstract]TCM terminologyserves as thecore carrierofthe TCM knowledge system，characterized by strong profesionalismandprofoundculturalconnotations.AccuratetranslationofTCMterminologyplaysapivotalroleinfacilitating internationalcommunicationanddisseminationofTCM.Thispaperexplorestheefectivenessofartificialinteligence（AI） applications in translatingTCMterminologyusinglarge language modelsofChatGPTandDepSeek.Anexpert-basedevaluation wasconductedtoassssthetranslationoutcomesacording totheWorld HealthOrganization（WHO）principlesandstrategiesfor terminology translation，focusingonkeyaspectssuchasaccuracyandconciseness，conceptualequivalence，appropriateuseof biomedical terminologyandadoptionof propertranslationstrategies.Aninteractivetesting experimentwasalsoemployedtofurther exploreeffective modelsof human-AIcollboration.Thepapersummarizes thestrengthsand limitationsofChatGPTandDeepSeek inTCMterminologytranslationandalsoproposesrecommendationssuchasenhancing human-AIinteraction，strengthening interdisciplinarycollaborationandlearningandpromotingterminologyunificationandstandardization.Theaimistobeterproote theaplicationofAItechnologyinTCMterminologytranslationandadvancetheglobaldiseminationandexchangeofTCM culture.
