Pattern identification and treatment of elderly patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome based on the theory of "Gan Shou Jin Huan"

[Abstract]Elderly patientswith primary Sjogren'ssyndrome areoften pronetomisseddiagnosis dueto theirconcealed symptomsandthecoexistenceofmuliplediseases，presentingwithdrymouthdryeyes，andmulti-systemimpairments.Basedon YETianshis"Gan ShouJinHuan"（sweetmedicinesnourishandrestorebodyfluid）theory，thispaperpositsthatthenormalstate ofthemysteriousmansionisopennesswhileclosureispathologicalItproposesthatthecorepathogenesisinvolvesspleenand kidneydeficiencyclosureofmysterousmansion，andimpaireddistributionofqiandbodyfluids，leadingtobodyfluddepletion theinterminglingofdyne-oxinphlegmandbloodstasisandresultinginaconditioncharacterzedbybothdeficiencyithe rootndexcessinthemanifestationsalongwiththecoexistenceofmultiplediseases.Intemsoftreatmentguidedbyeprinciple of "Gan ShouJinHuan"，fourtherapeuticmethodsareestablished：nourishingwithsweet-coldand moistening medicines，removing toxins withsweet-bitermedicines，openingthemysteriousmansionwithsweet-pungentmedicines，andregulatingthespleenwith sweet-blandmedicines.Theaimisto"openthemysteriousmansiontorestorebodyfluids"，takingintoacountbothhegeneration and distribution of body fluids，and restoring the normal flow of qi and body fluids.
