Toxicity and detoxification enzyme activity effects of three pesticides on Spodoptera litura larvae

Abstract：AninvestigationwasconductedonthemortalityanddetoxificationenzymeactivitiesofSpodopteralitura（Fabricius）larvae underthetoxicstressof hreepesticides：Emamectinenzoate·chofenapyr（EBC），Spodopteralituranucleopolyhdrovrus（SpltPV），andBacilus turingiensis（BT）.TheimmersionmethdwasusedtosudythetoxicefecsofEBC，SplNPV，andBohe4th instarlarvaeofSpodoptera ituraMeanwhile，amicroplatereaderwasemployedtodeterminetheefectsofthesethreeinsecticideson theatitiesofcarboxylesterase（CarE），multifunctionaloxidase（MFO），andglutathioneS-transferase（GSTs）.Thresultsshowed thatafter12hoftreatmentwithEBC，SpltV，andB，the4thinstarlarvaeofpodopterlituradisplayedsymptomsinludigslug gish movement，darkenedbodycolor，wrinkled bodywals，andareductioninboth bodylengthandwidth.WhenEBC was diluted withintherangeof250Oto750Otimes，thecorectedmortalityrateofthe4thinstarlarvaeofSpodopteraliturarangedfrom 60.71% to 100.00% ，withthemedianlethal time（ LT50 ）spanning from76.70 to111.50 h.WhenSpltNPVwas dilutedbetween375and1500 times，the corrected mortality rate ranged from 67.86% to 100.00% ，and the LT50 was between 74.17 and116.6h.When BT was diluted from 750 to 3 OoO times，the corrected mortality rate ranged from 78.57% to 100.00% ，and the LT50 ranged from 83.00 to 120.00h ： Whenthe4thinstarlarvaeofSpodopteralituraweretreatedwithEBCdiluted5times，SpltPVdiluted750times，andBdiluted 1 500times ，an increase in CarEactivityand a decrease in MFOactivity were observed in each treatment group within the range between 12h and 48h ，whereas GSTs activity exhibited fluctuating changes.
