Abstract This review examined the developm ent， com ponents， ty p es， an d ap p licatio n s of patient journey mapping for chronic disease patients with frequent healthcare utilization. It aimed to provide reference for the development and application of patient journey mapping in chronic disease patients with frequent healthcare utilization in China，to improve the problem of frequent healthcare utilization and to alleviate healthcare system strain.
