Abstract Objective：To establish communicative health literacy（COM⁃HL） evaluation scale for parents of children with acute leukemia， and to test its reliability and validity.Methods：Based on the concept and basic ideas of COM⁃HL and the Calgary⁃Cambridge Guide（CC⁃G）， the initial COM ⁃HL evaluation scale for parents of children with acute leukemia was formed through semi⁃structured interviews，Delphi expert inquiry， and pre-survey. A total of 397 parents of children with acute leukemia from two tertiary grade A hospitals in Shandong province were selected as survey subjects by convenience sampling from October 2023 to March 2024 to test the reliability and validity of the scale.Results：The COM⁃HL evaluation scale for parents of children with acute leukemia was formed，included 3 dimensions（obtaining information， understanding information， and applying information） and 18 items. The effective response rates for both rounds of expert inquiry questionnaires were 100.00% ，the expert authority coefficients were 0.81 and 0.90，and Kendall's W were 0.28 and 0.36，respectively （both P<0.01 ）.The item ⁃level content validity index ranged from 0.78 to 1.00，and scale⁃content validity index was 0.97.The results of exploratory factor analysis showed that the cumulative variance contribution rate of the 3 common factors was 72.649% . The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that most indicators met the ideal standards and had good fit.The correlation coefficients between the factors scores of the scale ranged from 0.196 to 0.552，and the correlation coefficients between the scores of each factor and the total score of the scale ranged from 0.667 to 0.814（all P<0.05 ）. The Cronbach's α coefficient of the scale was 0.931， the split ⁃ half reliability was 0.757，and the test-retest reliability was 0.894.Conclusions：The constructed COM ⁃HL evaluation scale for parents of children with acute leukemia has good reliability and validity.It can be used to measure the COM⁃HL level of parents of children with acute leukemia.
