Abstract Inresponse tothefrequentbearing failuresoccuring during theoperationof atop-blownrotaryconverter，afault analysis wasconductedbasedonactualoperatingconditionsfromanengineringproject.Thestudyrevealedthattheaxialforcebome by the supporting roller system at the operational inclination of 28o significantly exceeded the load capacity limit of the original sphericalrolerbaringhichdirectlyldtotefractureoftecagendjammingofterolers.Furthermore，adequatelubrication withinthebearing，resultingfrominsufcientoilpressureandlowefciencyoftemanuallubricationsystem，exacerbatedthewear. Basednthesefindings，theoriginalsinglesphericalrollerbearingwasreplacedwithacombinedconfigurationofa“sphericaloler thrust bearing + spherical roler bearing”toseparately handle theaxialandradial loads.Aditionally，the lubrication system was upgradedbyincreasingthdiameterofthelubricatiopipelines，adoptingahighpresureautomaticlubricationpump，andotiiing theselectionofgrease.Follwingtheimplementationoftheseimprovementstheequipmenthasoperatedcontinuouslyandstablyfor threeyearswitotayueceofaringfilu，ectielyaningthoneterspatioaleliabilitydproductioecy
