Abstract Aiming attheoccurrence stateand miningtechnicalconditions of the mainorebodyinalarge open-pit mine,this researchsystematicallyevaluatedthefeasibilityofopen-pit mining.Basedontechnical-economicandslopeparameters,optimization designoftheboundarywascariedoutusing3Dminingsoftware.Bysettngdiferentpricecoeficients,aserisofnestedpitboudary alternatives weregenerated,fromwhichtheoptionwiththebesteconomicbenefitandminingeficiencywasselected.Combinedwith theore/rockquantitiesandgradedataofeachbenchwithinthefinalboundary,areasonableproductionscalewasdemonstratedfrom theperspectivesofresourcequantity,grade,and miningcost.Furthermore,aphasedminingstrategywasproposedtoensurethe sustainableutilizationofmineralresources.Theresearchresultsprovidedecision-makingsupportforthescientificdevelopmentof his mine and serve as a valuable reference for similar mines.
