Innovative Path of Case-based Teaching Method in the Teaching of Bone Marrow Morphology

Abstract: Objective To explore and establish an innovative internship teaching mode of Bone Marrow Morphology, reform and optimize the current internship curriculum, and provide novel insights for enhancing traditional teaching approaches. Methods Aiming at the common challenges faced by students in the learning of Bone Marrow Morphology, such as difficulties in distinguishing the characteristics of bone marrow smears and the morphology of bone marrow cells across various diseases, this study designed and implemented an in⁃ novative case-based teaching approach, which involves optimizing the course structure and scheduling, selecting and integrating relevant teaching content, and enhancing both software and hardware resources for learning. Results Participating students expressed satisfaction with the provided learning resources, including slides and clinical cases. They generally believed that case-based teaching method effectively consolidated their knowledge of bone marrow cell morphology and enhanced their clinical thinking and problem-solving skills in practical scenarios. Conclusion Case-based teaching method has received positive feedback in the teaching of Bone Marrow Morphology and is anticipated to be further implemented.
