IStrengthening Food Safety Regulations for Pre-made Dishes in China： lessons from Japan's Food Safety Governance

Abstract

Inrecent years，China’spre-made dish industryhas enteredaphase of rapid development，becoming an emerging trendinthefoodsector.However，alongsideitsrapidgrowth，foodsafetyconcernsrelatedtopremade dishes have drawn widespread publicattention.This paper begins byanalyzing the reasons behind the rapidexpansion of China’spre-made dish industry，summarizes the mainchallenges incurrent food safety regulations，and examines broader trends in the industry’sdevelopmentand regulatory framework，using Japan，a more mature market，asa reference.Through a review of extensive literature on Japan’s food safety governance，the study outlines key Japanese practices in this field.Basedon China’sactual conditions，itthen proposes recommendations for enhancing food safetyregulations for pre-made dishes.
