Research on the Current Situation, Problems, and Countermeasures for the High-Quality Development of Xinjiang's Fishery Industry from the Perspective of the Big Food Concept

Abstract

The fishery industryis vital for implementing the Big Food Concept,obtaining food from rivers,lakes,and seas,and building a diversified food supply system.In recent years, Xinjiang has stabilized and expanded aquaculture space,upgraded the smart fishery seed industry,promoted green and healthy aquaculture practices,and enhanced value-added benefits across the entire industrial chain.These measures have enabled Xinjangtorank firstin bothaquaculturearea and totalfishery output among the five provincial-level regions in Northwest China.The high-quaitydevelopmentof Xinjiang's fishery industrystillfaces chalenges, including intensifying resource constraints,anunreasonable industrial structure,inadequate fisheryfalities, and insuffcient policy coordination.Therefore,guided by the Big Food Concept, Xinjang must pursue highquality fisherydevelopment by prioritizing both resource conservationand exploitation,strengthening water and land use guarantees,bolstering sci-tech innovation,promoting the integrated development of the primary,secondary,andtertiaryindustrieswithinfisheries,improvingpolicysupport,andenhancing totalfactor productivity in fisheries.This approach aims to achieve stable fishery economic performance,sustainable resource and environmental carrying capacity,and inclusive sharing of development outcomes.
