Theplanteight,rootlngthandotnumberweremeasuredandcomparedrespectivelyWenonseedlingsgrewtothreeleaves,theywere subjected to drought stress with 1 5 % PEG-60o0 solution. Chlorophyll value,carotenoid content,MAD content and soluble protein content were measuredat1,and3days,spectively.esult]Thesdyshowdthatafterdroughtstress,thechloropyllontentofZaoang18 showedacontinuousdowwardtrendwithincreasingtreatmenttime,thecarotenoidcontentofZhaouang18and36showedacontiuous downwardtredwithicreasigtreatmenttie,thesolubleproteicontentofZhaouang12and16showedacontiuousdowwardrendwith increasing treatmentti,andteDcontentofZaohuang14and16ontiuedtoicreasewitincreasingtrestie.Tesevisae sensitivetodroughtstressCoclusionAmong te8maizevarities,Zhaouang22,nd26avethestrogestdroughtresistancuring the seedling stage.
