AbstractTo investigate the immunomodulatory efectof astragaluspolysaccharides （APS）on pigeons intoxicated with Avermectin （AVM），this studyrandomlydivided 40king pigeons into4 groups（10pigeons per group）： he blank control group （free acces tofoodand water），te modelgroup（fed with pigeonfeed contaminated with60 mg/kgAVMfor30consecutive days），thelow-dose APS group（after modeling，5mg/dAPS wasadded todrinking water），andthehigh-dose APS group（after modeling，10 mg/dAPS wasadded todrinking water）.Theconditionofpigeons ineachgroupwas observed，andtheir body weight， spleen index，and serum indicators including immunoglobulin A（ lgA ）， tumor necrosis factor α （TNF- α ）， interferonγ（IFN-γ） ，and Interleukin-4 （IL-4） were measured.The results showed that pigeons in the blank control group were in good mental condition.Pigeons inthemodel groupshowed signsoffatigue and lethargy，withatendencytoatack conspecifics， while the overall conditionof the high-dose APS group was improvedcompared with the model group.Compared withthe blank control group，the model group showed a significant decrease in body weight and spleen index（ P<0.05 ）， as well as in the serum levels of IgA and IFN- γ （ P <0.05、<0.01）， while the serum levels of TNF- αα∝α and IL-4 increased significantly （ P<0.01 ）.After treatment，compared with the model group，the high-dose APS group exhibited a significant increase inbody weight and spleen index（ P <0.05），along with significantly elevated serum levels of IgA and IFN- γ （ P- <0.05），and a significant decrease in serum levels of TNF- α and IL-4（ P<0.01，<0.05） ; the serum TNF- α level in pigeons of the low-dose APS group decreased significantly（ P<0.05 ）. In conclusion，APS exerts a certain immunomodulatory effct on pigeons intoxicated with AVM，with the high-dose treatment （ |0mg/d， demonstrating a better efficacy.
