AbstractThe network pharmacologyand moleculardocking techniques wereemployed to investigate the potential mechanism of action by which rosmarinicacid aleviates heat stress in poultry.First,thePubChemand Genecards databases were used to obtain potential targets of rosmarinic acidand heat stress,respectively. Subsequently,a “rosmarinic acid-heat stress-target”network was constructed to screen for core targets,with simultaneous GO enrichmentanalysisand KEGG pathwayanalysisconducted.Finally,molecular docking wasperformed between rosmarinicacidandeachcore target individually.Theresultsshowed thatatotalof37related targets were screened, among which 8 were core targets including EGFR,MMP2,and CASP3.GO enrichment analysis revealed thatthese 37 relatedtargetswereinvolvedin24biological processes (suchasextracellularmatrixorganization),12celular components (such as plasma membrane),and15 molecular functions (such as zinc ionbinding).KEGG pathwayanalysis indicated that the37related targets were associated with9 KEGG pathways,including focal adhesion,celladhesion molecules,and the MAPK signaling pathway.Except MMP1,molecular docking results demonstrated that the binding energies of other 7 core targets were less than . Collectively, these findings suggested that rosmarinic acid may alleviate heat stress-induced damage in poultrybyacting on 7core targets (MMP2,MMP13,EGFR,MMP9,CASP3, MMP3,and ESR1),regulating signaling pathways such as MAPK,ErbB,and GnRH,and mediating processs including theregulationofcellapoptosis andautophagy,reductionof intestinal damage,and protectionofreproductivefunction.
