AbstractTo investigate thegrowthand qualitydiferences of main flue-cured tobacco varieties inthe Honghe tobacco-growing areaacross diferent years,arelatively fixed micro-ecological zonewithin thearea wasselected. Changes in growth period,agronomic traits,appearancequality,physical characteristics,and chemical components and sensory qualityofcured tobacco leaves of varieties K326and Yunyan 87 from 2020 to 2024 were analyzed.The results showed that,except for 2O24,the sowingandtransplanting dates were consistent for both varieties.K326 exhibited slightlylater growth stagesthan Yunyan87,whilethe field growth periods weresimilar.From2O2Oto2024,the agronomictraitsofboth varieties showedsignificantinterannual variation.Theaverage valuesfor plantheight,internode distance,and lengthand widthof the waist leaves of K326 were generallysmaller than thoseofYunyan87,while stem girth wascomparable.Yunyan87overalloutperformed K326inleaf structureandoilcontent,buthadslightly poorerleaf identity.Diferences incolor,maturity,and chroma between thetwo varieties were minimal.Physical characteristics showedlitle variation across years.K326 had suitable leaf surface densityandtensile strength,whileYunyan 87 had moderatetensilestrength butslightlylowerleafsurfacedensity.Both varieties exhibitedarelativelyhigh stemratio.The chemicalcomponentsofbothvarietiesshowedlitleinterannualfluctuation.Thecontentsof totalalkaloids,totalnitrogen, reducing sugars,and other indicators in the middle leaves fell within therange for high-quality tobacco.The sensory qualityof middle leaves was relatively beter in 2021and 2022,with K326 slightlyoutperforming Yunyan87 in this aspect.This study provides a referenceforthe sustainable developmentof the local flue-cured tobacco industry.
