GenAI辅助英语学习中大学生基本心理需求满足质性研究

Abstract:Based on self-determination theory this study explores non-English majors’perception of the basic psychdogical need satisfaction within GenAl-assisted English learning environments through qualitative analysis. It finds that GenAl exerts complex efects on the need satisfaction. Factors like autonomous decision-making in learning, enhanced language skils,and psychologically safe learning environments may facilitate the satisfaction of the psychological needs. Conversely, factors like an overreliance on GenAl,insufficient human-GenAl negotiation capabilities,oversimplified cognitive processes may have negative efects or context-dependent dual efects on the need satisfaction, leading to pseudo-autonomous learning or a false sense of competence. Moreover, the three psychological needs are not satisfied independently;rather, they form a complex interactive system, exhibiting characteristics of mutual enhancement,frustration,or compensation in diferent situations.
