Abstract： This paper systematically reviews the dynamic evolution and emerging hot spots of research on English as a Lingua Franca（ELF） from 2000 to 2024，based on the Citespace visualization tool. The study finds that the theoretical development of intercultural pragmatics has promoted three paradigm shifts in ELF research： the conceptual reconstruction from“ standard norms” to “communicative effectiveness”， the methodological innovation from static corpus analysis to multimodal interaction research，and the content expansion from language variation description to power negotiation and cultural identity construction. The study further points out that the central concern of ELF practice in the context of globalization has shifted from language form to the consensus-building mechanism inmulticultural interaction.Future efortsshould focuson strengthening learners’contextual adaptabity， pragmatic creativity，and intercultural common ground buildingabilities to enhance international communication eectiveness and integrate Chinese narratives into the global discourse.
