Study on the Applicability and Effectiveness of Standardized Nutritional Assessment Tools in the Elderly Population

Abstract: Objective:To investigate the applicability and effectivenessofMini Nutritional Assessment (MNA)in the elderly population aged 60 years and above.Methods:A total of 300 patients aged 60 years and above admitted to Health CenterofFengle Town,Suzhou District,Jiuquan City,Gansu Province fromAugust 2022 toOctober 2023 were randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group,with 150 cases ineach group.The experimental group used standardized nutrition assssment tools for nutritional status assessment,while thecontrol group used routineclinicalnutrition assssment methods.The improvementof nutrition during hospitalizationand the statusof nutrition maintenance after discharge were assessed.Results: In the experimental group,MNA was able to identify patients at risk of malnutrition earlier. During hospitalization,the proportion of patients in the experimental group whose nutritional status was significantly improved was significantly higher than that in the control group,and the follow-up after discharge found thatthe nutritional maintenance status of patients in the experimental group was also better than that of the control group,with significant differences (P
