Suggestions on the Replacement of Relays for Electric Vehicles of West Coast Express Line

Abstract：Based on the analysis of the relays used in electric vehicles on the West Coast Express Line of Qingdao Metro，this paper puts forward’a suggestion on the replacement of relays for this line.Firstly，it clasifies the relays according to diferent loads，and introduces the concept of reliability estimation based on the working characteristics of relays. Then，taking Guangzhou Metro as an example，the whole life cycle and the years to reach the expected reliability are obtained through theoretical calculation，and the service life of relays on West Coast Express Line is estimated by using this theory，which provides a theoretical basis for determining the time for the replacement of relays and for formulating relevant intermediate repair regulations. Finally，based on the working condition of relays in Qingdao metros，this paper analyzes the influencing factors of relay failure，explores the fault judgment methods and criteria，and puts forward 4 suggestions on their replacement，to achieve the purpose of improving the reliability of relays，saving maintenance and replacement costs，and providing a certain reference basis for the selection，use and replacement of relays in electricvehicles.
