Study on Airtightness and Comfort Index of Rail Vehicles and Control Measures

Abstract:Concerningrail vehicles,especially the trains running at high speed,due to the inabilityof the train toachieve the complete sealing,when the external surface pressre ofa train running at high speed changes,the external pressure willbe transmitted tothe interior of the train,causing fluctuations in the internal pressure. If the pressure inside the car changes too dramatically,it may cause physiological discomfort symptoms such as tinnitus and ear pain for passengers,affecting their ride comfort.A large number of simulations and experiments have proven that the pressure changes outside and inside the vehicle are the most significant when passng through a tunnel or intersecting another train in a tunnel. Therefore,inorder to ensure the passengers’comfort,the study on vehicle airtightness is particularly important.The article studies therelationship between the airtightness and the comfort index of rail vehiclesand the control measures, analyzes the research results on train comfort and airtightness at home and abroad,and proposes the airtightnesscontrol measure for the vehicleand its components based on the sealing index.Based on the calculation formulas of static sealing index and dynamic sealing index,the airtightness of the vehicle has been verified to meet the requirements of the specification with examples.The result of this study provides theoretical basis and technical support for improving the operational quality of rail trains and the passenger comfort.
