Formation and Mechanical Properties of Glass-carbon Hybrid Composite Pultruded Sample Plate

Abstract:The article studies the manufacturing feasibility of the glas-carbon hybrid composite pultruded plates and the tensile and bending properties of the pultruded sample plates. The glass/carbon fiber bundles and the fiber cloth were used as pultruded materials and the polyurethane resin as pultruding resin to prepare the pultruded sample plates. The prepared sample plates were cut,stretched and bent to prepare sample strips,and the mechanical properties of the sample strips were tested and analyzed accordingly. The analysis result:The average tensile strength and the average tensile modulus of elasticity of the longitudinal sample strip are better,with an average of O.95 GPa and 74.9 GPa respectively; The average bending strength of the longitudinally bent sample strip is O.991 GPa,which is 3.5 times the average bending strength of the transversely bentsample strip,indicating that theproperties of the longitudinally bent sample strip is higher than that of the transversely bent sample strip. Based on the observation of surface defects in the cut section of the sample plate,it turns out that the position of the injection port and the flowabilityof the resin willaffect theforming condition of the product,thereby determining the performance of mechanical properties of the sample strip.
