Abstract:The mechanism of the influence of vegetation restoration on soil characteristics in the loess hilly landslide area is unclear,in this study we selected the typical landslide area in the loess hilly and gully region ofcentral Gansu in the upper reaches of the Yelow River as the experimental site.Through field sampling and indoor analysis,combined with fractaltheory,the diferences insoilparticle size characteristics and physical and chemi cal properties under three ecological restoration measures,namely natural restoration,honeysuckle planting, and cor planting,were compared. The results showed that:(1) Under diffrent ecological restoration measures, the composition of soil particles was mainly composed of sand grains ( 34%~37% ),fine sand grains (2号 (27%-28%) . (2) Compared with natural restoration,the pH in the honeysuckle area decreased significantly, and the moisture content in the corn area increased significantly.The contents ofsoil organic matter,total nitrogen and total phosphorus in artificial restoration were allhigher than those in natural restoration.(3)The range of the single fractal dimension was 2.44 to 2.72,specifically corn (2.72)> honeysuckle (2.65)> natural recovery(2.44),and the recovery ofcorn leads to better soil quality. Under diferent ecological restorations, the single fractal dimension of soil showed an increasing trend as the soil texture changes from coarse to fine. The nutrient content and moisture content of soil restored artificially were higher than those restored naturally, that was,artificial restoration measures were more conducive to enhancing the soil's water retention capacity and nutrient fixation capacity. The study shows that in the process of landslide control,appropriately adopting auxiliary measures of artificial restoration can efectively improve soil structure,increase vegetation coverage of the landslide site,and reduce soil erosion.
