Self-Reform： Inner Drive and Practical Pathways for Implementing the Eight Rules

Abstract：As a distinctive characteristic and unique strength of the Communist Party of China （CPC），self-reform provides a solid assurance for implementing the spirit of the Eight Rules. In terms of intrinsic alignment，both self-reform and the implementation of the spirit of the Eight Rules serve the goals of advancing fulland rigorous Party self-governance and consolidating the CPC’s foundation for governance. They adhere to a problem-oriented approach and a practical logic of improving conduct by “dismantling and fostering in paralel”，relying on the self-discipline and self-renewal of Party members and officials.In terms of inner drive，self-reform supplies ideological，institutional，and practical impetus through theoretical grounding，institutional innovation，and problem rectification.Asfor practical pathways，focusing on the main thread of self-reform consistent with the spirit，improving institutional norms that are compatible with it，and fostering a mutually supportive political ecology will help consolidate and expand achievements in conduct improvement， thereby enhancing the Party's long-term governance capacity.
