On Guiding the Professional Development of University Ideological-Political Course Teachers with the Spirit of Educators

Abstract： The spirit of educators represents a modern continuation of the unique pedagogical ethos inherent in fine traditional Chinese culture.It also constitutes a moral imperative and professional pursuit for university ideological-political course teachers in fulfiling their educational mission. In essence，this spirit encompasses professional requirements such as ideals and convictions，moral integrity，educational wisdom，a dedicated work ethic， benevolence， and a commitment to upholding principles. It defines the political soul，ethical standards，essential demands，driving force，lofty belief，and profesional vision that guide teachers’ career growth. Regarding its value orientation，the spirit of educators provides these teachers with the spiritual motivation and scientific guidance to diligently impart truth，deepen knowledge，and refine their methods—enabling them to develop strong political，theoretical，and personal qualities.From the perspective of implementation pathways，it is essential to strengthen the coherence of teachers’ professional cognition，emotional commitment，convictions，and conduct，ensuring that the spirit of educators effectively guides their professional development.
