Abstract Objective To reduce the unplanned extubation rate of totally implantable venous access ports （TIVAP） in cancer patients.MethodsA Quality Control Circle（QCC）team was established to investigate and analyzethe current status of unplanned extubation in TIVAP patients in the oncology department，and to develop targeted interventions.Continuous improvements were implemented through threeaspects：establishing amultidisciplinarycollborative model，implementing precise prevention and control measures for TIVAP-related infections and occlusions，and strengthening patient education.ResultsThe unplanned extubation rate of TIVAP in oncology patients decreased from 6.78% to 2.45% .ConclusionThe implementation of QCC activities effectively reduced the unplanned extubation rate of TIVAP in oncology patients，safeguarded their vital aces for treatment，ensured treatment safety，and improved both the quality of medical care and patient satisfaction.
