Abstract Objective To translate the Sickness Presenteeism Scale一Nurse （SPS-N） into Chinese and evaluate its reliability and validity among clinical nurses. MethodsBased on the Brislin model，the SPS-N was translated，back -translated，culturalladapted，and pre一tested to develop the Chinese version of the SPS-N.Using convenience sampling，48O clinical nurses from 5gradeAtertiary general hospitals in Shandong Province were surveyedto assess the reliability and validity of the scale.Results：The Chinese version of the SPS -N consisted of four dimensions with 21 items. The overall Cronbach's α coefficient of the scale was O.925，and the test-retest reliability was O.856. The content validityindexof thescale wasO.97，with itemcontentvalidity indexrangingfromO.86 to1.0o.Exploratoryfactoranalysis extracted four common factors （emotions，patient safety，general performance，and inter-team relationships）， which collectively explained 63.194% of the total variance. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that all fit indices met ideal standards.Thecompositereliabilityof each factor was more thanO.7，and theaverage variance extracted for each factor was more thanO.5.The square roots of theaverage variance extracted foreach factor were greater thanthecorrelation coefficients between that factor and other factors. ConclusionThe Chinese version of the SPS-N demonstrates good reliabilityand validity and can serve as areliable assessment tool for measuring sicknesspresenteesm among nurses in China.
