Abstract: Wuyi rock tea is atraditional Chinesefamous tea.This studyanalyzed theelementcontentdiferences inrock tea from diferent producing areas,and constructedadiscrimination model to identify the geographicorigin of rock tea. This model provided technical support for protecting the geographic indication of Wuyi rock tea.We used inductively coupled plasma masspectrometry (ICP-MS) to analyze 39 elements in 50 tea samples from different producing areas. Principal componentanalysis (PCA),orthogonal partial leastsquares discriminantanalysis (OPLS-DA),anddecision tree (DT)algorithms wereused toobtain the geographic origin discrimination model.Thecontents of essential elements for humanbody inrock tea showed atrend of magnesium>manganese>iron>zinc>copper>nickel>cobalt>selenium.The contents ofheavy metals suchas lead,cadmium,chromium,andarsenic wererelativelylowin Wuyirock tea.The content of light rare earth element cerium was the highest ( (522.9ug/kg) in Wuyi rock tea.T-test analysis results indicate that

Wuyirock teahaduniqueelementfingerprint,andthecontentsofzinc,lead,cadmium,scandium,antimony,thallum and bismuth elements in rock teas between two regions had significant differences( (P<0.05 ). The OPLS-DA model can effectively distinguish Wuyi rock tea from non-geographical origin rock tea.The DT model identified two main contributing elements,Sband V,andobtained aclassificationrule with a tree depth of3.Theaverage accuracyof the tenfold cross validation was 92.5% . We successfully established a method for tracing the origin of Wuyi rock tea in a smallscale space based on element fingerprint.
