Integrated sensor-actuator design and experimental study in active vibration and noise reduction for cavity structure

Abstract:Thecontrolofvibrationandacousticradiationinrectangularconfinedspaceshasbeenanimportantchalengeinegeer ing.Inthis study,asolutionisproposed withasensoractuatorcontrolsystemconsistingofaloudspeaker,abaseandapiezoelec tricceramic sensor.This design hasthe advantagesoflightweight,low natural frequencyand integrated sensing/actuatordesign. However,thestrain-integracontrolschemeusedfortheintegratedsensoractuatorsuffersfromstabilityproblems.Toovercome these problems,thispaperutilizesacontroltrategywithaband-passfiter.Thestudytests themechanicalpropertiesofthis home madeinertialactuatornddeterminesthestructuralmodesthathavethereatestimpactontheacousticperformance.Abandpass filtercontrolstrategyisused to selectivelymodulatethesestructuralmodes.Theexperimentalresultsshowthatthehomemadeiner tialactuatorcanefectivelygenerateiertialforces,whilethebandpassfiltercaneffectivelyreducethestructuralvibrationespe ciallincontrolingthefirsttwoacousticavitymodesintelowfrequencybnd,hicheibitsasignificaneffect.isoach is moreflexibleincontrollnglow-frequencynoiseinconfinedspacesand providesaneficientsoutiontotheproblemofstructural noise in engineering environments.
