Abstract:Inordertoconsidertheefectofliquidsloshinginananularwatertankonmechanicalperformanceofatwostage Vari abledamping TMD,takinganactualhighrisestructureasanexample,aglobal modelconsideringthe water tank asaparticleand theliquid-solidcouplingmodelofthewatertankuderthefullwaterstateandthenon-fullwaterstateareestablishedbyABQUS software.The seismicresponsesof the twostage variabledamping TMDunderdiferentliqud-solidcoupling statesarecompared andanalyzed.Theresultsshowthatheamplitudeand maximumdampingforceofthetwo-stagevariabledampingTMDconsider ingliquidslosingarelargerunderlargerseismicexcitationandtesloshingefectofliquidihibitsthefulldevelopmentofthec ond-stagedamping energyconsumptionof thetwo-stage variable damping TMD.With theincreaseofseismic excitation,the maximumbaseshearforceoftheliquidsolidcoupling modelislargerthanthatoftheparticlemodel,andtherelativeincreaseamplitude increases accordingly.
