Abstract:Sincecurrntloudness modelsareunable topredict loudnessunderround window stimulation,aloudnessmodel for roundwindowstimulationisproposedintispape.Theloudnessmodelconsistsofperipheralauditorymodelandadataproeingback-end.Theperipheralauditorymodelthatisabletocalculatebasilarmembranevelocitiesunderfre-fieldacousticstimula tionandroundwindowstimulationandtheback-end thattransformsbasilar membranevelocitiesintoloudnessareconstructedThe reliabilityof theperipheralauditorymodelisverifiedbycomparingthemodelpredictedresultswiththeexperimentaldataonthe outereartransferfunction,mdleeartransferfunctionand stapesvelocitiesunderacousticstimulation,round windowstimulation transferfunction,frequencyselectivityand frequencyresponseofthebasilarmembrane,andbasilarmembranedisplacement.The reliabilityoftheloudnessmodelisverifiedbycomparingthemodelpredictedresultswiththeexperimentaldataonequal-loudness contours,bandwidth noiseloudness,loudnessleveloftonewithfrequency masking,andthresholdforcomplex tones.Theresults indicatethattheloudnessmodelacuratelycalculatesbasilarmembranevelocitiesunderacousticstimulationandroundwndow stimulation,andisable topredicttheloudessofpuretone,complex tones,andbandwidthnoiseunderacousticstimulationand round window stimulation.
