Horizontal dynamic response of offshore extended helical pile withmultiple helixesunder combined loads

Abstract:Basedonthe Biot'sporoelasticmodelandtheEulerBernoulibeamequations,thedynamicresponseof extended helical pilefoundations withmultiplehelixesisstudied.Theequivalentstifessmodelisusedtosimulatethehelixesonthehelicalpile. Withtheutilizationoftheintegralransfor,thevariableseparationmethods,andtheimpedancematrix transfermethod,theanalyticalsolutiontothedynamicresponseofhelicalpiles withmultiplehelixes isderived.Throughthecomparisons withthesimpli fiedanalyticalsolutiosandtheexperimentalesults,tecoectessofteproposedodelisjustified.Finall,withhepta tionofacomprehensiveparametricstudy,somedominantimpactfactorsonthedynamicresponsesarerevealed,andtheoptimal designschemeissuggestedaccordingly.Themainconclusionofthisstudycanbeconcludedas:Anincreaseoftheextensionratio ofhelix willicreasethecompleximpedanceandresonancefrequencyattepiletopoftehelicalpile.Anincreaseoftheratioof helixspacingtowidthwillincreasethecompleximpedanceoftepiletop,buttheefectonteresonancefrequencyisnotsignifi cant.Anincreaseoftheverticalstaticloadatthetopoftepilewillsgnificantlyeducethecompleximpedaneandresonancefre quency atthe pile top.The helix inclination has an optimalrange in theefect ofcomplex impedanceofthe pile top.
