Abstract:Post-tensioned prestress,self-centeringbraceandshape memoryaloy(SMA)arethemain ways torealizetheself-cen teringofthestructures.However,theonstructionofposttensionedprestressisomplextheconcentratedforcegeneratedbyself centering brace maycause joint damage,and the SMA is expensive.The discsprings are preloaded toprovide theself-centering force.Aselfcenteringebarspliceisdevelopedtoconnectthelongitudinalrebarsinthereinforcedconcretestructures.Tecalcula tionmethodoftestifess,preloadandefectivestrokeoftheself-centeringrebarspliceisestablished.Fourrebarsplices withdifferentpreloadforcestifessandefectivestrokeaedesigndandmanufactured,andthemechanicalpropertiesoftebrsplices aretested.Theparametersof terebarspliceadoptingtheBouc-Wenmodelareidentifiedbasedonparticleswarmoptimizationalgorithm.Theresultsshowthattheself-centeringrebarsplicehasastablehalf-flaghystereticcurveandexcellentselfcenterigper formance.TheBouc-Wenmodelcanaccuratelydescribethehystereticcharacteristicsoftherebarsplice,andthefitingdataare in good agreement with the test data.
