Abstract：Focusingonmotherhodtheory，thispaperexaminesitsbackgroundandsignificance，reviewingtheevolutionofmotherhoodstudiesinWesternfeministresearch.DuringthedevelopmentofWesternfeminism，motherhodstudiesshiftedfromcriticizingthe motherhoodsystemtoeconstructingmotheringpractices，emphasingthediversityofmotherdndtecomplexityofsocioculuralo texts.Sincethesecondhalfofte2Othcentury，theimageofthe“goodmother”hasbeenhighlystandardizedundertheinfluencofinten sivemotheringndoutthissinglesadardigossocialsuprtadilyferetiationdig tos’eoficts andguiltToresoletisdilemitisecesarytobreakteconstraintsofth“goodmoter”identityandprovideadeqatesocialupportfor mothers.Chinese motherhod studieshaveben graduallyenrichedbasedonWesternresearch.Urban midle-class womeninChinafacedualpresuresof workandchild-rearinginmotheringpractice，becoming“super mothers”whoblanceconomic，childearing， andeducationalresposibiliesInChina’sfamilyandsocialrasformation，womendemonstratenotonlyte“godmother”rolebualso diverse mothering experiences related to gender，intergenerational relationships，and class.
