Abstract：Intheeraofnewmedia，shortvideoshavebecomeintegratedintothedailylivesofcolegeanduniversitystudents.This studyusesaquestionairesurveyofstudentsatShangqiuoralUniversitytoexploretheirunderstandingofmainstreamcultureand tendenciesinshovideelatedclturaldisceent，viewsonuesontentpreferences，andotioalatitudes.Italsoalyte rolesandshortcomingsofshort videosinpromotingculturalconfidence，shapingstudents’values，andadvancing mainstreamculture. Basedonthesefindings，thestudyproposesfollowingsuggestions：encouragingtheinovativecreationofshortvideosthemedaround mainstreamculture;voidingdidacticontentandehancingmainstreamculturalawarenesstroughdversemetds；creatingstrkigo videostoexpandthefolowerbaseofmainstreammedia;cateringtohepreferencesofyoungshortvideouserstopromotethespreadof mainstream culture.
