Abstract: Using the method of online ethnography, this study explores the self-discipline presentation and subject construction of female fitness enthusiasts in social media from the perspective ofFoucault'sself-technology theory. The present study holds that self-discipline presentation of female fitnessenthusiasts on social media includes three dimensions of visual presentation,discoursepresentation,and interactive presentationofself-discipline fitness.The subject onstruction offemale fitessenthusiasts can be divided into subject confrontation:the mutual construction of bodyanxiety and self-regulation; subject inhibition: the mutual construction of moral quality and digital capital; and subject exploitation: the mutual construction of self-empowerment and self-alienation.Along with the interventionof digital technology,digital self-technologyprovides atechnological path for females to reshape heir subjectivity,and also deeply entangles themselves in the vortex of algorithm training and capital operation.
