Effect of Different Tree Shapes on Growth and Fruiting Characteristics of Hazelnut

Abstract:【Objective】Tocompare the indexes suchas yield,fruitqualityand leaf photosyntheticcharacteristicsof Hazelnuttres with multi-maintrunk semi-circularshapeand inclined pulingtreeshape underdiferentplantingdensities,andexplorethe influence of planting densityand treeshape onthe growthand fruiting characteristicsof hazelnuts,soas to providea reference forimproving theindustrializationlevelof hazelnuts.【Methods】Thefruit economictraits,leaf photosyntheticand physiological characteristics,and branch compositionof Davy hazelnuts with multi-main trunk semi-circular shape(2 m3 m, 1 m ×3m ) and inclined pulling tree shape ( 1m×3m )were measured. The effects of different planting densities and tree shapes ontheyieldandfruitqualityofhazelnuts were studied.【Results】When the planting densityofhazelnuts decreased, thesinglefruit weight,singleplantyield,andkernelrateofhazelnuts withthe multi-maintrunk semi-circularshapeincreased. Although the inclined puling tree shapehadalarge planting density,itssinglefruit weight,single plant yield,and kernelrate were the highest.Thecontentsof starch,totalsugar,and protein inthefruitsof theinclinedpuling tree shape were higher than those of the multi-main trunk semi-circular shape with planting densities of 2m×3m and 1m×3m ,When different tree shapes were compared,the photosynthetic rate,intercellular CO2 concentration,and transpiration rate of the leaves of hazelnuts measured in different months were the largest in the inclined puling tree shape with a planting densityof 1m ×3m .When the planting densityof the multi-maintrunk semi-circularshapedecreased,thecontentofchlorophylladecreased,thecontent ofchlorophyllbincreased,ndtheleaf thicknessandthe weightof0Oleaves gradually increased.Thecontentofchlorophl a,total chlorophyll,leaf thickness,and te weightof1Oleavesoftheinclinedpullng treeshape witha plantingdensityof 1m × 3 mwerethelargest.Thetotalnumberof branchesand thebranchingabilityof hazelnuts were differentfordiferent tree shapes.Thetotalnumberofbranchesoftheinclined puling treeshape wasthelargest,which was197.5,andthetree vigor was moderate. The proportion of short branches was the largest,which was 69.8% . The tree vigor of the multi-main trunk semi-circular shape with a planting density of 1m×3 m was the strongest,the number of long branches and medium branches of hazelnuts wasthelargest,the numberof short branches was theleast,andthe flower formation was poor.【Conclusion】 Whentheinclinedpuling treeshapeisadoptedforhazelnuts,thetre bodyformsafanshape,andthelightefectisexcellent. Theannual growth amountof thetreebodyis moderate,andthe branches aremainly mediumand short branches,which is easyto formflowers.Moreover,itcan increase the yieldof hazelnut fruits and improve thefruit quality,andcanbeapplied n production.
