Effects of Formula Fertilization on Drought Resistance of Litchi Seedlings

Abstract:【Objective】The changes in droughtresistanceof lycheeseedlingsunder different fertilization treatments in droughtstressconditions wereanalyzed,withtheexpectationofprovidingreferencesforenhancing thedroughtresistanceof ly cheeandachieving eficientlycheecultivation.【Methods】Litchi(Litchi chinensis Sonn.)cultivar‘Nuomici’wasusedas the test material,andthe mixtureofsandand vermiculite with equal volumeratiowas usedas theseedling substrate.The matrix moisture was controlled by weighing method under the drought condition of 20% . The orthogonal test method was used to set up 25 differentratiosofurea,calciumsuperphosphate,potasiumchlorideand magnesium sulfate fertilization treatments,and thecontrolwasnofertilization.Thesurvivalrateofsedlingsandthechangesofrelatedphysiologicalindexesunderdifferent fertilization treatments wereanalyzed.【Results】Compared withthenon-fertilizedcontrol,optimized fertilizationtreatments improvedseedlingsurvivalrate,reducedleafrelative waterdeficitandrelativeelectricalconductivity,whileincreasinguperoxidedismutase(SOD)activity,chlorophyllcontent,and solublesugar content.Using seedlingsurvivalrate,leaf relative water deficit,relativeelectricalconductivity,SODactivity,chlorophyllcontent,andsoluble sugarcontentas evaluation indices,principal component analysis revealed significant variations in droughtresistance among the 25 fertilization treatments.Among them,the control scored the lowest,while the treatment with urea (50g/plant)+ calcium superphosphate (75g/plant)+ magnesium sulfate (30g/plant) scored the highest. 【Conclusion】 Appropriate formula fertilization can effectively enhance the drought resistance of litchi seedlings.
