AbstractThis study investigates the occurrence and damage of pests in the artificial forests of Pinus tabulaeformis in the Xiaoxishan area of Beijing using both inteligent monitoring devicesand manual surveys.A total of2,433 insects belonging to9 species,7 families,and3orders were recorded.Among these,1,812 individuals from 7species,5 families,and 2 orders were captured using light traps,while 621 individuals from 6species,5 families,and 2orders were identified through manual surveys.The most abundant species was Gravitarmata margarotana,followed by Retinia cristata and Dendrolimus tabulaeformis.Four species were common to both monitoring methods,with a Jaccard similarity index(Cs)

of0.62,indicating a moderate levelof similarity.The monitored species were primarilyadults,with the peak trapping period occurring in June.The Heilongtan substation management area exhibited the highest pest abundanceand species diversity.The two survey methods complemented each other,enriching the dataon pest species and their occurrence trends in the Pinus tabulaeformis forests of the study area,thereby providing valuable references for integrated pest management in the region.
