SiteIndex Table for Quercus variabilisNatural Secondary Forest in Taihang Mountains

Abstract[Objective]The paper established site index table for Quercus variabilis natural secondary forest in Taihang mountains to provide reference for site quality assessment， forestation and management. [method]Taking Quercus variabilis natural secondary forest in Taihang mountains as the research object， The paper establishedANN model of average top height dependingon 714 pairs ofage-height data，which came from 116 sample-plots of Quercus variabilis natural secondary forest and 84 analytic woods，and compared with regular guide curve. [Result]The results showed that （1） the structure of ANN guide curve model as 1： 4：1， the fitting precision was 99.07% ，the mse was 0.0133. （2） The reference age was 35 years， step distance was 2m .Site index table of Quercus variabilis natural secondary forest in Taihangmountains was developed by using the relationship oftop height and site index.（3） Drop inspection was conducted by usingaverage top height of sample-plots，The fitting precision was 95.7% ．[Conclusion]The results showed thatthe site index table had higher precision and could be used on evaluate site quality of Quercus variabilis natural secondary forest in Taihang mountains.
