Continuous Effects of Sowing Methods and Timing on Seedling Cultivation of Atractylodes chinensis

AbstractThis study evaluated the eects of three sowing methods（hill sowing，vertical strip sowing， horizontal strip sowing）and two sowing times （autumn and spring）on seedling growth （height，ground diameter，root length）and biomass（whole plant fresh weight，root fresh weight）of Atractylodes chinensis through a two-year （2023-2024） field experiment. Results showed that vertical strip sowing combined with autumn sowing exhibited the best performance，with plant height and whole plant fresh weight reaching 24.5 cm and 25.3g in2024，respectively，significantly higher than other treatments （P<0.01） .Horizontal strip sowing in spring achieved a 46.5% increase in fresh weight but showed a significant decrease in ground diameter （-10.5%） .
