Phenotypic Diversity of Paeonia lactiflora in Northeast China

AbstractIn order to reveal the degree of phenotypic variation and the patern of variation in wild Red Paeonia （Paeonia lactiflora） in Northeast China，13 phenotypic traits suchas plant height，crown widthand ting number were analyzed by ANOVA，coefficient of variation （CV）analysis，coefficient of dispersion analysis （R′） ，Shannon-Weaver genetic diversity analysis （H′） ，principal component analysis，cluster analysis and correlation analysis.The results showed that the phenotypic traitsof wild Red Paeonia showed significant or highly significant differences among 12 different seed sources.the mean value of the coefficientofvariation（CV） forthe13phenotypic traitswas 21.78% ，and themean valueof thecoefficient of dispersion （R′） was 53.99% ; and the H′ values of the 12 seed sourceswere relatively high，ranging from 1.72to 1.82.The results ofcluster analysis revealed that the 12 provenances could be roughly classified into fourgroups.Pearson correlation analysis showed that a total of 41 phenotypic traits reached significant correlation （P<0.05） ，of which all were positively correlated except for the negative correlation of terminal leafletaspect ratio withcompound leaflet widthand terminal leaflet width，and onlysix of them did not reach highly significant correlation （P<0.01） ：
