[Abstract]ObjectiveToinvestigate theefectofdiferent concentrationsof atropineeyedropsonspherical equivalentre fraction(SER),axial length(AL),pupil diameter(PD),andamplitudeof acommodation(AMP)in children with myopia. MethodsAtotalof150children withmyopia who were admitedtoHengshui People’s Hospital fromJanuary 202oto January 2022 were enrolled and randomly divided into 0.1g/L atropine group (control group) and 0.2g/L atropine group (observation group)inadouble-blind manner,with75children in each group.Allchildren receivedonedrop foreach eyeat night,and the course of treatment was 2 years forboth groups.SER,AL,PD,and AMP were measured every4 months.The repeated measures analysisofvariancewasused toassessthelongitudinalchangesofeachparameteratdiferenttimepoints,whiletheMann-Whitney ( U test wasused forcomparison between groups.ResultsAfter 2 yearsof treatment,there were significant diferences in the changes in SER and AL between the two groups (Z=2.17-2.39,P<0.05) ,suggesting that compared with the control group,the observation grouphadslowerprogresioninmyopiaandalowerdegreeofaxialelongation.ThechangeinALwassignfcantlyne gatively correlated with that in SER (β=-1.42,95%CI=-1.61 to -1.21,P<0.05) . There were no significant differences in the changes in SER and AL between the first and second years of treatment in either group ( P>0.05' .Both groups had a significant reduction in AMP and a significant increase in PD in the early stage of treatment ( 0-4 months)( ⋅Z=2.05-3.92,P<0.05) ,followedby stable changes in 5-24 months.From enrollment to 24 months,there were no significant differences in the overall changes in AMP and PD between the two groups (Z=0.69-1.35,P>0.05) .ConclusionThis study shows that 0.2g/L atropine eye drops has a better effect than 0.1g/L atropine in controlling the progression of myopia,while the two treatment regimens have asimilarefectonAMPandPD.Bothconcentrationsofatropinecanefectivelycontroltheprogressonofmyopiaandaxialelongation simultaneously,with a similar annual control effect.
