Abstract:Scylla paramamosain ,a crucial economic crab species along the southeast coast of China,is highly favored for its delicious meat and rapid growth. However,due to its natural distribution in subtropical waters,traditional farming is challenging in northern regions due to environmental constraints such as low temperatures and fluctuating salinity. To explore the feasibility of an artificial pond aquaculture trial of Scylla paramamosain was conducted in saline-alkali land in the Hebei area. The experimental area covered 6.6hm2 ,with a farming cycle of 148 days. The average size of the grown crabs was 200g each,with an average yield of 2 145kg/hm2 .The economic benefits reached 202 500 to 222 000 yuan/ hm2 . This experiment provides a new technical pathway for the efficient utilization of saline一alkali soil resources and the optimization of regional fishery structures. It also offers a feasible solution and practical basis for farmers in northern regions to achieve stable production and increased income.
