Analysis of morphological differences in Thamnaconus septentrionalis among different geographical populations

Abstract:To elucidate the morphological differentiation characteristics of different geographical populations of Thamnaconus septentrionalis,this study collcted 159 wild samples from the coastal water of Qinhuangdao(Hebei),Yantai(Shandong),the outer bay of Dalian(Liaoning),and the Zhoushan sea area(Zhejiang). The six measurable growth traits determined were body length (BL), body depth (BD),head length(HL),snout length (SL),caudal peduncle length (CPL),and caudal peduncle depth(DD),and ratio一normalized,followed by phenotypic correlation,principal component,and Fisher linear discriminant analyses. Phenotypic correlation analysis revealed that " SL/BL—HL/BL" maintained extremely significant synergy across all populations ( r>0.736 , P<0.01 ),while the correlation of caudal peduncle traits exhibited sea area specificity. Principal component analysis indicated that the contribution rates of the first three principal components were 37. 733% , 23.983% and 20.869% ,respectively,with a cumulative contribution rate of 82.59% ,representing gradients of "overall body depth—length","snout—caudal peduncle length",and "caudal peduncle depth—caudal peduncle length",respectively. Fisher discriminant functions were established for the four sea areas using six phenotypic traits,with an average cross- validation discriminant accuracy of 83.65% (the Zhejiang population achieved the highest accuracy of 86.36% ). The study demonstrates that the proportional traits BD/BL,HL/BL,SL/BL,CPL/BL and DD/BL can serve as efficient and low一 cost population discrimination indicators,providing a phenotypic basis for germplasm resources classfication, fisheries management,and stock enhancement strategies.

绿鳍马面鲀(Thamnaconusseptentrionalis)隶属鲀形目(Tetraodontiformes),单棘鲀科(Mo-nacanthidae),马面鲀属(Thamnaconus),别名橡皮鱼、剥皮鱼,广泛分布于北太平洋西部海域,主要分布于我国东海、南海、黄海、渤海和台湾沿海[1]。(剩余6508字)
