Research on the Environmental Carrying Capacity of Cultivated Land Resources in Shaanxi Province

Abstract: [Purposes] This study analyzes the spatiotemporal variations in the cultivated land resource and environmental carrying capacity index in Shaanxi Province from 2012 to 2O22,and calculates its trends duringthis period,and identifies the keyconstraints.Methods]This studyemploys the DPSIR model to establish an indicator system for assessing the carrying capacity of arable land resources and environment in Shaanxi Province.The TOPSIS model is applied to measure and evaluate this carrying capacity, while an obstacle degree model is used to identify the key constraining factors.[Findings] ① From 2012 to 2022,the environmental carrying capacity index of cultivated land resources in Shaanxi Province showed consistent annual improvement,upgrading from "moderate" to "good" by 2022.At the subsystem level,all components except the status subsystem exhibited an upward trend during 2018—2O22.However, both the pressure subsystem and status subsystem in the 2018—2O22 stage demonstrated an overall declining trend. ② The main constraining factors have shifted from pesticide application intensity,agricultural water conservancy,and output value per unit area of arable land in 2O12 to per capita arable land area,agricultural water conservancy,and fertilizer application intensity by 2O22.[Conclusions] Shaanxi Province should develop cultivated land resources in a scientific and rational manner to promote the transforma

tion of agriculture toward green development. It should regularly monitor the cultivated land environment and improve the governance system.
