Research on the Evolution Characteristics of Carbon Balance Zoning in Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Region

Abstract: [Purposes] Research on the evolution characteristics of carbon balance zoning in Poyang Lake Ecological and Economic Region (PYLEER) provides guidance for formulating scientific carbon emission reduction and carbon neutrality policies.[Methods] Carbon balance zoning in PYLEER was analyzed using energy consumption data,land use data,and GIS, with a focus on carbon source-sink analysis for the period 2000—2021.[Findings]From 2000 to 2021,the carbon balance in PYLEER showed significant fluctuations,ranging from 16.129 to 2O2.691 8 milion tons.The carbon compensation rate remained below 1 throughout the study period,indicating a persistent carbon source status with a declining trend that reflects growing carbon reduction pressure.The economic contribution coefficient of carbon emission displayed an initial decrease followed by an increase,accompanied by substantial spatial pattern changes.The spatial patern of carbon ecological carrying coefficient remained relatively stable.
