Impact Analysis of Y-Type Nozzle Spacing on the Internal Flow Field in Tunnel Freezers

Abstract: [Purposes] In order to improve the freezing efficiency of the freezer and the quality of the frozen products,as well as to determine the optimal nozzle arrangement,this study analyzes the influence of diferent Y-type nozze spacing on the internal flow field of the tunnel freezer.[Methods] By varying the spacing of the Y-type nozzles,the optimal nozzle arrangement was determined.Taking the Y-type nozzles with different spacings as the research subject,a physical model matching the actual setup was established,and simulations were conducted using the COMSOL software.[Findings] In this paper,Ytype nozzles with diferent spacing are set up respectively.The average outlet wind speed is about 17.3 m/s, and the fluctuation is within 0.2m/s . The simulation results showed consistent velocity variation trends along the jet direction for allfive models. However,appropriately increasing the nozzle spacing could reduce the ratio of crossflow width to the total length of three nozzles.[Conclusions] When the nozzle spacing increases from 93mm to 133mm ,the ratio of the crossflow width to the total length of the three nozzles decreases from O.55 to O.46, indicating improved heat transfer eficiency.This provides a reference for further optimizing the nozzle arrangement of the tunnel-type quick freezer.
