Abstract: Addressing the characteristics of large asphalt carriers, such as strong grid independence and a high proportion of frequency conversion loads,this paper designs a combined frequency conversion drive scheme based on AFE (Active Front End) and acommon DC bus.Key technical issues including AFE-LCL filter resonance suppression,DC busbar short-circuit protection,and coordinated driveof cargo oil pumps areresolved. Compared with traditional independent frequency converter schemes,the proposed approach offers advantages in cost,space,harmoniccontrol,and reliability.Validated through practical shipboardapplication,the systemmeets the requirements of the shipowner and classification society, achieving a failure rate of 0.23% over 12 months of continuous operation.
