AReview ofResearch on Quantifier Scope in Modern Chinese

Abstract:Chinese quantifier scope hasalways beena hot topic in Chinese quantifiers study.Quantifier scope phenomenon has notonly atracted extensive atentionin the fieldof Chinese grammar，but alsoaroused hot discussion in the fieldof foreignlinguistics.The scope restricted by quantifieris usuallycalld quantifier scope.Chinesequantifier scopecan be dividedinto threecategories:surface scope，reverse scope and scope freezing.Bycombing and reviewing the phenomena of Chinese quantifier scope research，it is found thatdomestic and foreign scholars usuallydeal withtheproblemsof Chinese quantifier scope interpretation from the three perspectives of syntax，semanticsand pragmatics，but rarelydeal withall kinds of Chinese scope phenomena in a unified manner，especially Chinese complex sentences processing.
