Consciousness and Resistance ofSubject in Absurd World： A Psychoanalytic Interpretation of The Stranger

Abstract：The Stranger unfolds the modern lifelandscape with“absurdity”as itscore theme，begining with aself-reflective question concerning the self and leading to thecontemplation ofone’s subjectivity.Starting from the protagonist Meursault's relationship with the Other，the subject undergoes a continuous process offormation and construction：the fantasyof self-identityintheimaginary，thediscusion beyondlanguageinthedialecticsof thesymbolic，andthediscoveryofthe silenceof therealandtheauthenticityof existence in thecontemplationof death.Lacan’s tripartitetheory—Imaginary，Symbolic，andReal—serves asan epistemological framework for interpreting the imageofthesubject.In the synchronous operation of the threerealms，the construction of the subjectcannot be separatedfrom the intervention of language.Through an analysis based on Witgenstein's philosophyof language，this paper delves intoa deeper understanding of Meursault's classic image and its significance in contemporary times.
