Textual Research on Versions of Yi Wen Qian in Ming Zaju

Abstract:Thereare two versions namely Sheng Ming Zaju and Legends of Four Chis of Yi Wen Qian. The structures and story plotsof thetwo versions are basicallythe same，buttherearegreat diferencesin version form.The formerhas eyebrowcriticism，while the latter hasn’t. Structurally,Yi Wen Qian has broken through the pattern of Yuan Zaju，and there is no wedge in six cases.Musically，it adoptsthe form of both North and South songs.In terms of singing，both the leading role andthesupporting role cansing.Other aspects，such as the useof role trades，action expresion prompt words and final poems，also show the phenomenonof both Yuan Zaju and legendarysystem，which reflects the characteristics of Southern Zaju.The studyof the versionof Yi Wen Qian is also helpful tounderstand the spreadof the storiesat that time and its influence on later generations.
